Prior to founding Emerge, Scott spent 7 years as a complex litigation associate at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LLP, where he handled business and securities litigation matters, including, but not limited to, successfully defending a multi-billion dollar investment partnership in a suit by its subsidiary corporation alleging civl RICO, fraud and complex contractual claims. Scott also handled labor and employment disputes for emerging growth technology companies, retailers, and service firms, where he focused on litigating wage and hour disputes, discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful discharge claims in both state and federal courts. Scott has extensive law and motion, and discovery experience in both State and Federal courts, and has planned and managed all phases of pre-trial and post-trial litigation.

After Brobeck, Scott launched Langley Sports & Entertainment, LLC where he operated as a solo practitioner handling business litigation matters and sports management. Scott obtained his Certified Contract Advisor designation from the National Football League (NFL), and negotiated and executed multiple NFL player contracts. In 2005, Scott was invited to teach as an adjunct professor in the business division at West Los Angeles College, teaching business principles and ethics courses. And, in 2009, Scott was asked to serve in an Of Counsel capacity for the Nella Law Group, and head the boutique firms' business litigation division.

In each legal experience, Scott identified the professional and personal development challenges faced by attorneys. Seeing these incredible challenges inspired Scott to pursue a Masters Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University and train at the Southern California Counseling Center to refine his Coaching craft. Based on these experiences, Scott developed the Emerge Attorney Coaching System for maximizing professional and personal performance for attorneys.

In addition to coaching attorneys, Scott’s other passion is empowering children. Scott is a National Advisory Board member for the A Better Chance organization whose aim is to assist economically disadvantaged but academically able students gain entry to college-prep private and public schools across the country. And, for the past 25 years, Scott has also coached youth athletics on a volunteer basis at various facilities in the Los Angeles area including, Cheviot Hills Recreation Center, Westwood Recreation Center, Ladera Park and Playa Vista Sports Complex. Through his tireless efforts with children, Scott is affectionately known as the “kid whisperer” and “Coach Scott."
